There was a special screening of "The Seagull's Laughter" in Moscow on 30th January 2012.
It was organized by the society Friends of Russia and Iceland, which usually goes under the name of the Icelandic Society in Moscow. It took place in Dom Kino.
Overseas films in Russia are usually translated simultaneously. A narrator sits by a microphone and reads out all the dialogue, without expressing emotions. In order to hear the narrator, the volume of the original soundtrack of the movie turned down.
There was only this one screening of the film. The organizers expected 3-400 people, mainly from the cultural sector and the travel industry.
